What is your name and where are you based?
My name is Frances Cannon and I’m a 25 year old artist based in Melbourne, Australia.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the human body and the human experience. In particular I draw from my own body and my own experiences in this life. I am inspired by feminist ideas and by current events.
What mediums do you use?
I use pen and ink for my simple line-drawings, and for my larger paintings I use watercolour, gouache and ink on thick watercolour paper.
What brands of art supplies do you use?
I use a variety of brands and like to experiment. But some old-faithfuls that I continuously go back to are: Sakura Pigma Micron pens (size 0.4 and 0.5), Ecoline ink, Golden High Flow Acrylics, Pentel Aquash (fillable watercolour paintbrushes which I like to fill with ink), Windsor and Newton watercolour paint tubes, Windsor and Newton portable watercolour palette, Windsor and Newton gouache paint tubes, Fabriano Artistico sketchbooks, Fabriano Artistico watercolour paper (cold pressed), Arches watercolour paper (cold pressed).
What is the Self Love Club? Who can join?
The Self Love Club started as a personal tattoo on my arm. I first had the idea when I drew Self Love Club as a tattoo on one of my drawings! I then asked my friend Gemma Flack (who is also an artist and a tattoo artist) to tattoo it on my arm. I then posted on Instagram inviting whoever wanted to ‘join the club’ to also get the tattoo. I was expecting only a handful of people to do it, but it became a movement! I am so proud of this movement of self love and acceptance that I started. Anyone who connects with the meaning behind Self Love Club and wants to get the tattoo can join! If you would like to pay me for the design you can purchase a Tattoo Ticket (but that is optional).
You must always show yourself respect, love, forgiveness and understanding.
You must show each other respect, love, forgiveness and understanding.
You must be kind to your body, and you must take care of your mental health.
What is a Tattoo Ticket and what can I use it for?
If you are inspired by one of my existing drawings and would like to get it tattooed, this is an optional opportunity to pay for the design. I love seeing people tattoo my illustrations, and if you would like to support me as an artist this is a great way to do it! Once you have purchased you are welcome to tattoo any illustration that you love (EXCLUDING other people's custom designs... if you are unsure please feel free to contact me).

What about custom tattoo designs?
If you would like a custom tattoo designed especially for you, you can email me and I will send you all the relevant info including pricing etc. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. DO NOT buy a Tattoo Ticket if you want a custom design.
